My Experience with Dubbing and How I Got Start ....
First experience.....
Voicing the character "Guvan" My first dubbing experience came through the popular teledrama 'Kirilliyo' that was broadcast on television ๐บ. It is a special memory of my professional journey that I got to practice the character of 'Guvan', which was dubbed by Shanudri priyasadh ๐ญ. Training to match the rhythm of the voice of a veteran actress was a great challenge and a valuable lesson for me ๐ช.
Experts who became teachers.....
The main dubbing director of the television dubbing department, Vajira Miss, provided me with basic training during this journey ๐ฉ๐ซ. After that, I received mentorship from many experts in the field such as Ishara Prabuddha Sir, Thilan Warnajith Sir, Kamal Deshapriya Sir, Athula Ransirilal Sir, Ramawickrama Sir, Miss Rasadari Peiris ,Miss Uma Aseni, Miss Thejani Wickramasinghe, Miss Chethana Ketagoda, Miss Inoka Boteju, Shan Bandara Sir and Miss Nanda Jayakody ๐. Their guidance strengthened my professional foundation ๐ผ.
The most difficult task in the art of voice-over is 'lip-voicing' ๐ค. Especially when dubbing works produced in Chinese and Japanese languages into Sinhala, it was a big challenge for me in the beginning to manipulate the voice to match the rhythm of those languages ๐. But with constant practice, today I have the ability to successfully narrate works in any language ๐.
I have also trained for cartoons, documentaries, teledramas, radio dramas and commercials ๐ฌ.
Favorite Memory...
My favorite memory is when I completely changed my natural voice to voice a certain cartoon character ๐ฑ. The compliments I received from the expert teachers who taught me for that will remain in my heart forever ❤️.
I know from experience that voiceover is not just about speaking, it is an art of bringing the soul of another character to life ๐.
